Enrolled Veterans who are granted Hardship eligibility. Hardship (General)
grandfathered in). If the VA provider and the Veteran agree that there is a
hardship determination, the Veteran would be eligible to receive community
care for one year.

include geographical challenges, environmental factors, a medical
condition that impacts the ability to travel, or if a Veteran needs
to travel to their nearest VA medical facility by air, boat, or
ferry.
