             *** Unmapped Problem/Diagnosis NTRT Request ***
 
A New Term Rapid Turnaround (NTRT) mail message has been sent to the 
Standards & Terminology Services (STS) team, and the site coordinator has 
been copied on the message thread. This is informational only and no work 
is required by the site coordinator for processing of this request.
 
This request is generated when a user from the listed facility selects a 
valid SNOMED CT problem/diagnosis from the extended search option when 
the initial search does not find a suitable term. The selected 
problem/diagnosis already has a SNOMED CT ID, but it will be assigned a 
 
temporary ICD-9-CM code of 799.9 until a correct ICD-9-CM code is 
assigned 
 
After the SNOMED CT problem/diagnosis term is mapped to a valid ICD-9-CM 
code or set of codes, it will be deployed through the NTRT process and 
become available for selection by all users who use the search function 
within the Problem List application. The ICD-9-CM code 799.9 will be 
automatically updated to the correct ICD-9-CM code after the NTRT 
deployment and will display in the detail view of the patient's problem 
on the Problem List tab.

SUBJECT UNMAPPED PROBLEM/DIAGNOSIS NTRT REQUEST
DESCRIPTION
This bulletin will be delivered to the G.PROBLEM LIST NTRT Mail Group on
FORUM.  It informs the group that a user at a given facility failed to
find a suitable term in either the Problem List or Clinical Findings
hierarchy of SNOMED CT. The NTRT Terminology Stewards for the Problem List
Domain will consider the request, and inform the facility of their
decision as to whether the new term should be added to the Enterprise
Terminology.
