| DESCRIPTION |
This field will contain the patient's primary short ID as defined by the
variable VA("BID") which is returned from VADPT or as found in the
PRIMARY SHORT ID field (.364) in the PATIENT file. In most cases, this
will be the last 4 digits of the patient's social security number.
However, for patients seen under joint sharing agreements or seen at DoD
facilities, this field may differ. The format of the returned data will
be identical to the way it is found in the VA("BID") variable or the .364
field of the PATIENT file.
