TEXT | TEXT (field #2) is a word-processing field containing the commands to be used to finalize the connection and begin the transmission process. If this field is empty, and field 1.2 is TCPCHAN, MailMan is able to build a TCP/IP script on-the-fly if the necessary [MAILMAN SITE PARAMETERS] (fields 8.23 and 8.24) are filled out. TRANSMISSION SCRIPT NOTES (field #99) is a word-processing field in which you or MailMan may place notes about the script. If MailMan places a new IP address in field #1.4, a note will be added, stating the date/time, NETWORK ADDRESS (MAILMAN HOST) (field #1.4) is the IP (Internet Protocol) the old IP address, and the new IP address. address of the site. The IP address is a unique address, much like a phone number. If it doesn't work (no one answers), MailMan uses DNS (Domain Name Server) to look up the IP address (using the Domain name). If the IP address returned by the DNS works, then MailMan puts it in this field, and makes a note to that effect in the TRANSMISSION SCRIPT NOTES field #99. OUT OF SERVICE (field #1.5) indicates that this script should not be used. |
