TEXT | When the computer prompts 'PATIENT NAME:', there are a variety - PATIENT'S WARD - To identify an inpatient, you can enter a ward name, All patients currently on that ward will be displayed. Sometimes, more than one patient will match what you have entered. The matching names will be displayed with date of birth and SSN. You will be prompted to make a selection. Only 5 names are displayed at a time, enter an '^' to stop the list or carriage return to see more. [EXAMPLES]... of ways you can respond to identify the patient to the computer. - FIRST LETTER OF LAST NAME AND LAST FOUR DIGITS OF SSN This is the quickest way for the computer to find the patient. - LAST 4 DIGITS OF SSN - LAST NAME, FIRST NAME - Partial names can be entered. |
