APPLICATION PARAMETER (#771), HL LOWER LEVEL PROTOCOL PARAMETER (#869.2),
and HL LOGICAL LINK (#870) files.  You will be asked to identify an HL7
device which must exist as entry in your DEVICE file (#3.5).
 
     The PSDHLK routine is invoked by the Controlled Substances post-init.
The routine, PSDHL7 is also independantly invokable at any time that a site
needs to set up their interface for Narcotic Dispensing Equipment Systems.
 
     If you do NOT want to perform this step at the time of the post-init,
you can simply D ^PSDHL7 when you're ready.
     Version 3.0 of the Controlled Substances package uses the HL7 package
to provide a generic interface to Narcotic Dispensing Equipment Systems
(NDES).  HL7 or Health Level Seven is a standard protocol which specifies
the implementation of interfaces between two computer applications (sender
and receiver) from different vendors for electronic data exchange in
health care environments.  If your Pharmacy Service is using an NDES such
as Access, Meditrol, Pyxis, or Suremed you may wish to set up the
interface.  This will be accomplished by adding entries to the HL7
