GENERAL DESCRIPTION | Inpatient Medications requests permission to $O through the OPTION file (#19), "B" cross reference. We also request Write access by VA FileMan to the OUT OF ORDER MESSAGE field (#2). In version 5.0, this code is used to disable options during the pre install routine and enable them in the post install routine. The group of options that deal with Pick Lists are inactivated during the pre install routine. The options cannot be enabled until the end of the Pick List conversion, which is hours after the KIDS install finishes. The last task of the Pick List conversion routine is to enable the Pick List options again. This is needed to keep the users from processing any Pick Lists until the conversion is completely finished. Making the edit to the OUT OF ORDER MESSAGE FIELD seems to be the only way to accomplish this job. |
