| GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
This DBIA is intended to document the transmission of
data from CDS (Clinical Data Service) located on a server in the AAC (Austin
Automation Center) to the OE/RR package running on servers located at each VA
Medical Center.
The OE/RR package uses the direct connect API of the MESSAGING package to send
a request HL7 message to CDS. This message sends as parameters the patient
ICN, a domain specific "What Code", a date range that specifies what dates are
acceptable for the data that will be returned by CDS. The request HL7 SPR
segment is in the following format: (variables surrounded in _"VARIABLE"_)

CDS then returns the requested data by sending a response HL7 message that is
handed to OE/RR by the MESSAGING package API. The definition of how the
return data is formated is specified by the following RDF segment for each
domain:
