This field contains the fully specified name of the LOINC
code.  It has five or six major parts including: the name of the component or
analyte measured, the property observed, the timing of the measurement, the
type of sample, the scale of measurement, and where relevant, the method of
the measurement.  The colon character, ":", is part of the name and is used to
separate the main parts of the name.

This field was introduced in LOINC version 2.07, the
field is a concatenation of the fully specified LOINC name. This field maybe
used as the test name on reports rather than the fully specified name in FULLY

Lab Orders Portability accesses this file in converting
DoD entered Lab Orders for storage into VistA.

All access by North Chicago project software to this file is read only, using
the "DSIC FM FIND" RPC to invoke FileMan lookup from our Java code.

DSIC FM FIND is used by orders processing services in the VA ESB to obtain
information on laboratory orders.  When the VA ESB processes a lab order, it
is the first RPC call and is used to obtain the Orderable Item IEN, which sets
up all subsequent calls to DSIC FM FIND and DSIC DDR GETS ENTRY DATA.  It is
also used to obtain, among other purposes, a list of component test IENs for a
lab panel.
