LAB SERVICE
Lab orders are frequently written in advance of the
patient's next appointment. If circumstances force the patient to miss the
appointment, those lab orders are not considered valid after a certain period
of time.

Having access to this update code gives the Lab package the ability to
'obsolete' or lapse pending orders that are no longer considered valid.
OUTPATIENT PHARMACY
The status of a medication in the ORDERS (#100) file
might be erroneously active when the status in the corresponding medication
file - PRESCRIPTION (#52) or PHARMACY PATIENT (#55) - is expired or
discontinued. Sites have found that these orders are typically several years
old, and the root cause that existed at that time is unknown.

Patch PSO*7.0*546 introduced option "Medication Status Check" which allows a
site to search for medication order status mismatches and correct the status
in the ORDERS (#100) file if that status is erroneously "active".

The ability to call STATUS^ORCSAVE2 is necessary so that the "Medication
Status Check" option can correct the ORDERS (#100) file status.
