GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Consult/Request Tracking package provides an
efficient way for clinicians to order consultations and procedures from other
providers or services within the VHA system, at their own facility or another
facility.  It also provides a framework for tracking consults and procedures
and reporting the results.  It uses a patient's computerized patient record to
store information about consult and procedure requests and results.

Request Tracking Consults and Procedures.  We use a couple of fields in the
GMRC PROCEDURE (#123.3) file in order to do this.  We use the NAME (#.01)
field, TYPE OF PROCEDURE (#.05) and the RELATED SERVICES (#123.32) sub-file.
