GENERAL DESCRIPTION
OEHRM is creating Imaging Migration software to
facilitate the transfer of images from VistA to Millennium. The software will
build a central accession number database that identifies all image-holding
entities - consults and Radiology procedures - and will maintain that file
throughout the conversion period.

Note: The patch - EHM*1*2 - will not be installed nationally. It will be
installed on at sites that are being converted to Cerner.

The Image Migration load tool is in 2 parts: 1)
baseline load and 2) on-going maintenance.

BASELINE LOAD

Consults: The software scans file #123. It identifies images associated with
the consult in the Image file (#2005), the GMRC DICOM Temp List file
(#2006.5839) and in the new SOP files (#2005.63, 2005.62, 2005.61). The load
extracts data from the fields listed below from the new SOP files in order to
add or update records in the Image Migration file (#1606).

Radiology: The software scans file #74. It identifies images associated
with the Radiology report in the Image file (#2005) and in the new SOP files
(#2005.63, 2005.62, 2005.61). The load extracts data from the fields listed
below from the new SOP files in order to add or update records in the Image
Migration file (#1606).

ON-GOING MAINTENANCE

Consults: When consults are resulted, the EHM CONSULTS protocol is executed to
add or update records in the Imaging Migration database. This protocol needs
to read the same fields as does the baseline load into order to add or update
records in the Image Migration file (#1606).

Radiology: When Radiology exams are resulted, the EHM RADRPT protocol is
executed to add or update records in the Imaging Migration database. This
protocol needs to read the same fields as does the baseline load into order to
add or update records in the Image Migration file (#1606).
