GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This will permit the direct reads using the "AVSIT"
cross reference of the OUTPATIENT ENCOUNTER file (#409.68).  This will be used
to find an encounter associated with a specific visit from the VISIT file
(#9000010), or determine that no entry exists for a visit in the OUTPATIENT
ENCOUNTER file.

Once the "AVSIT" cross-reference has been used to determine if an entry
exists, the entry will be viewed, using VA FileMan, to check the STATUS field
(#.12)
