NAME OEHRM Imaging Migration - Access to file #74
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
OEHRM is creating Imaging Migration software to
facilitate the transfer of images from VistA to Millennium. The software will
build a central accession number database that identifies all image-holding
entities - consults and Radiology procedures - and will maintain that file
throughout the conversion period.

The Image Migration load tool is in 2 parts: 1)
baseline load and 2) on-going maintenance.

BASELINE LOAD The software scans file #74 for reports with images and loads
them into the Imaging Migration database. To do this, it needs to extract the
report status (field #5) to check that the report is verified. It then scans
the Image multiple (field #2005) to get the data it needs for the baseline
load.

A second part of the baseline load scans the New SOP Image Series file
(#2005.63). If the study is Radiology, it needs to get the IEN of the
Radiology Report from the "B" cross-reference.

ON-GOING MAINTENANCE When Radiology procedures are resulted, the RA RPT 2.3
protocol executes. A new protocol - EHM RADRPT - will be added to this parent
protocol to add or update records in the Imaging Migration database. This new
protocol extracts the case number from field #.01 of the RAD/NUC MED REPORTS
file (#74) so it can check to see if images exist in the new SOP files
(#2005.6n).

RECORD EXTRACTION The extraction tool scans the Image Migration file. If the
record is from Radiology, it extracts the patient's DFN from file #74.
