GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Accounts Receivable (AR) needs access to the following
fields in the Patient file via FileMan Utilities in order to determine if any
outstanding First Party (i.e. copay) debt can be cancelled due to a Pension
Award in patch PRCA*4.5*384.

The fields AR will use are:

It is the Effective Date that the patient was awarded VA
Pension Entitlement of Original Award by VBA. This field is optional. But if
entered, must be a precise date Month/Date/Year) (00/00/0000). This date
cannot be a future date. This date also cannot be entered before the veteran's
16th birthday.

Effective with patch PRCA*4.5*384, new field .3853 -
PENSION TERMINATED DATE was added to this ICR, which allows Facility Revenue
to create a report to identify Veterans who have Copayments which may be
eligible for cancellation due a pension award.  The new field, PENSION
TERMINATED DATE (#.3853), places an end to the cancellation eligibility period
if the Pension was Terminated.
